i've been experimenting with programs like dvdxcopy before i bought a dvd writer so that i knew something about what i was doing. i have a few questions about extras though. im planning to use dvdxcopy to strip the extras from dvd-9 so that i can fit movies that are 120 minutes into one dvd.
my questions are.. can i take some extras out just enough so i can have the movie and some extras on one dvd-r? and whats a good program to do it?
and is it possible to have the title menu of a movieshwo up on the backup copy , and still take out all the extras? i hope im making sense. if anyone can help i appreciate. thanks.

Sulla,
I've never tried it myself (I don't have a DVD burner yet), but I've heard good things about Pinnacle InstantCopy. Apparently it'll copy the whole DVD (extras and all) but compresses it so everything will fit. The quality of the finished product is supposed to be decent.

Hi and welcome-

Maybe you should have a look at the DVD Backup Guides (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/dvdbackup-guides.htm).

Warning: DVDXCopy is expensive, $99: IfoEdit (together with some manual interaction and/or DVDToolbox) will do the same thing for free! ATM DVD95copy seems to be the program that gives most value for the money when it comes to transcoders, i.e. best quality. There still is nothing that beats the speed of DVD2One though. The third coise among the transcoders, Pinnacles Instant Copy is quite cheap, but it seems like there is a little too many things that can go wrong with that one though. You should be able to avoid most of them using MisterX guide.
