Just curious on something...

We all know at 1150 is the standard Birate for a VCD, I'm wondering if this could be increased to let's say 1500, and would it have combatibility problems with some DVD players. Thanks

By increasing or decreasing the bitrate you would be breaking the vcd specification and creating an (x)vcd, it may play on some dvd players but probably not all.

KVCD is a popular (x)vcd template you may want to take a look at it.

I've been experimenting with KVCDs as well as SVCD and CVD (my player has no problem with standard SVCD and CVD). I encoded several 5-minute clips with each xVCD/KVCD method, threw the clip in VCDEasy, and burned the cue/bin with Nero on a CD-RW. (This seems to be the suggested test method by many users.) I found that some KVCD formats worked, while most didn't. The best part was the instant gratification of quick encodes, quick burns and quick viewing on my TV (plus the quick erase).
