I joined two avi files, two halves of a movie, using virtual dub 1.3c. They are the same bitrate, same everything and play fine using any software divx player.

I followed the instructions here:

http://www.dvdrhelp.com/virtualdubedit.htm

and joined the two files into one. When I went to convert it using DVD2SVCD 1.1.1 build 2, its converting it as a PAL movie @25 fps. Why is this? I have also noticed whenever I try to convert older b&w movies from divx to svcd they are converted at PAL and seldom work.

Thanks

It is because of the frame rate of the original. The original must be close to 25fps so it see's it as PAL.

You really should read the forum. It takes a long time to encode and there is no what to know how it will come out until it's done.
Nobody has any idea what you used as a source and what settings you used in DVD2SVCD? How can we know how it will come out?

Thank you for you reply. I have spent literally days going through the forum, it is difficutlt sometimes as there is so much information here. You are right of course, how could you know how it will come out, without more information, sorry for the silly question.
