Hello everyone. Extreme newbie here.

Quick question. I downloaded Gordian Knot release 0.27. I read the on-line step by step instructions very thoroughly while processing my favorite DVD. Something is wrong though. Every time I process this film the audio fails to multiplex with the video. The result is two files, a .mp3 and a .avi. I have been over the settings many times. It appears everything is fine before I start the job. I've tried three times now (total of about 30 hours processing) to process this film but no luck. Audio is always separated from video.

I know I am not a complete idiot. I processed another DVD using the same process and similar settings. The final .avi was complete. Audio was properly merged with video.

What am I doing wrong? Is there a way to merge the .AVI with a .mp3 after the fact? I don't want to go through another 12 hours of processing.

Thank you very much,

Ge0:confused:

To mux audio and video, Open the avi in nandub or virtualDubMOD (important: regular version will not work.) Set Video->Direct Stream Copy Open the audio with AVI->Audio->VBR MP3... Then choose AVI->Audio->Interleave Here the delay should be equal to what DVD2AVI wrote in the filename of the audio file. The preload option should be 500ms and the interleave value should also be 500ms. Then save the AVI. FILE->Save AVI... or FILE->Save AVI...

(Stuff in italics refers to VirtualDubMod (http://sourceforge.net/projects/virtualdubmod))

Hi-

To help diagnose why the audio and video weren't merged (a process called multiplex, or mux for short), we might need a look at the log file.

But to mux the 2 together couldn't be any easier. Open the AVI in Nandub (included with GKnot). Set Video to Direct Stream Copy. Then go Audio-(VBR)MP3 Audio, and load the MP3 Soundtrack. Then back to File, and Save As AVI (give it a different name than before). Then wait a minute and you're done.

You really re-encoded twice just because the Audio and Video weren't muxed? And at 10 hours a crack? Did you try and find a guide to help you with this? Like This One (http://www.doom9.org/virtualdub_procedures.htm)? You should have come here sooner for help. Good luck.

Edit: Damn, beaten again. This is getting to be a habit.
