Ok this is the first time i've encountered this problem after ripping many many dvdr's. I just rented armageddon, ripped all files to hdd like usual. Loaded up main movie in dvd2avi, and when i hit preview, as soon as it gets to the valhalla logo, it starts doing this skip/repeating thing where it goes back like 5 seconds and than goes than after a few more seconds goes back 5 seconds. It seems to do this for about the first 15 mins of the movie (the first vob) However, what bugs me out is the disk plays fine in either my dvd player or on my computer!

Has anyone had this problem before with this disk or others? Is it maybe just a bad disk (it is rented), but if it is why does it play fine.

Note: I went ahead and encoded with cce and the problem carried over.

seames to be an angle problem, you either correct this with ifoedit, or keep the angle you prefer with smartripper in movie-mode,
for further instructions, search in the forum ;)

Hmmm... are you making an illegal copy instead of a backup of what you own?

See. There really are good reasons to back up discs...

And a reason why computer room doors (back in the day ...) had a sign reading "No food or drink beyond this point."

I wonder if I am being a little overreacting on this issue.

Do we really need the I just rented armageddon ... etc thing.

Isn't it supposed to be a violation of the forum rules? Can a moderator put me in my place, so i just don't feel the need to complain all the time?

We would prefer that information such as that not be posted. But, in certain countries it is legal to copy rented movies, and, since we don't know what country segaman is in, it is not a clear violation.

You are absolutely right, i shouldn't have put that in my post. I do apologize.

However, as this is an unclear situation, wouldn't be nicer that each and everyone of us just restrained himself of stating that he owns an illegal copy. Does anyone care what the contents of his disc r or how he obtained it?

As Segaman admitted in his last post, he shouldn't had put it in his post.
