I'm used Nic's feb-16 and umaniac's feb-20 builds.

I have b-frames in the encode. I basicall y followed Doom9's guide.
Here's the URL -->> http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/xvid-vdub-dev.htm.

Well I think it's oversize as the movie length is only 2:40. The target filesize is 300mb.

The movie I'm encoding is a 22:10 long anime episode. But I only encoded the first 4000 frames as a test.

any ideas?

thank you.

You're supposed to let people know your exact settings if you really expect comments. Please read the 'posting bugs'-sticky.

heh I wasn't exactly posting a bug. I was just asking if the oversize problem that was reported before still exists.

And as for the settings, I gave the link to doom9's guide which is basically the settings I used. :)

with a two pass vbr encoding, you need to wait the end of the coding process to see the final video file size.

vbr means variable bitrate... and the target file size indicated by vdub is a estimation using the current average bitrate, which could be very different at the end (you only wait 4000 frames... less than 3 minutes on a 22:10 anime )
