I have two computers in my network. One is named "P4", the other is "P3"; the network works ok.
P4 runs as master, P3 is slave. The problem: when I press "Update", P4 doesn't show up in the list, no matter what I do. P3 shows up, I can set it up ok.
Both computers have read/write access to the source.
The jobs.log is this (from the VdubMod ran on P4):
21:01:33-Constructor, Single Mode (Single, Slave)
21:01:33-Clear called, object reset
21:01:35-ScanNetwork(1), Entry found:Microsoft Windows Network
21:01:35-ScanNetwork(2), Entry found:KOTOKO
21:01:35-RecursiveScanNetwork, Add host: P3
21:01:35-TryAddHost, Valid host found:P3
21:01:35-RecursiveScanNetwork, Add host: P4
21:01:35-TryAddHost, host already found: P4
21:01:35-ScanNetwork(1), Entry found:Microsoft Terminal Services
21:01:35-ScanNetwork(1), Entry found:Web Client Network
Any help or ideas will be appreciated,
Thanks,
h.

Unfortunately noone of the active VDubMod staff really undersands the net stuff, it was just pasted in from the special Mod (which introduced hellalutof bugs), so I can't help. Also for this reasons this part of VDubMod will not be ported to 1.5, at least not till we find someone who knows this stuff and will maintain it (hint hint).

I'm really sorry to hear that, the net mod has interesting and great potential.
Anyway, I fixed the problem: I have edited hosts.info and entered the IP of the computer who didn't show up. It worked!
I think it is a bug due to the workgroup name, but don't quote me on that.

Yup, I think the same. But I don't think it makes sense to include it as long as there is nobody who really knows what he's doing :/

Who is wrote it? Is there any way somebody could get in contact with him and find out exactly what his idea was for accomplishing split processing? I know there's the code you can read, which I've tried, but I don't see what he's doing at all.
If I could get an idea about the theory of the split processing and work with you guys, I'd be willing to maybe take a stab at it.

Well, the original author (Thomas Matern) of the mod (he did it for the original VDub and NanDub) kinda put it into our hands and said he has no time anymore to work on it (See here (http://virtualdub.everwicked.com/index.php?act=ST&f=5&t=423)). He doesnt seem to be active on the board anymore, but you or we could try to email him.
Talking of the current VDubMod Devels I have to say that after Cyrius included the mod (he mostly did a copy&paste job and told me he doesn't really have an idea how it works), only stream fixed some errors with it, but he's gone MIA.
It would be really great if you can get a hold of it and join our team :D
Cheers

I've pulled down the latest source. Can you point out where the mod is integrated. I'll have a look at it.

Hi
If you are searching for where the NET mod comes from, then you could read this post (http://virtualdub.everwicked.com/index.php?act=ST&f=5&t=423) (hope it's ok to point to another forum here ^^').
Thomas Matern (author of the original mod) has a (german) site up (http://www.matern-parkett.de/dub) where you can find the sources (seems like he removed the link to the sources in the Download section, but the link http://www.matern-parkett.de/dub/nandub-vdub-src.exe still works).
Those sources (with some modifications, since Thomas Matern first implemented it in Nandub - taking into account all Nandub features concerning SBC - and then adpated to work in VirtualDub too - using the same source files ... which means there are some #define ;)) were included in VirtualDubMod 1.4.13.
The sources of VirtualDubMod 1.4.13.x are available in the 'VirtualDubMod' module of our SourceForge CVS space. The necessary Dlls for this version are in the 'VirtualDubMod_Required_DLLs' module.
The sources of VirtualDubMod 1.5.x are available in the VirtualDubMod15 module of our SourceForge CVS space. The necessary Dlls for this version are in the 'VirtualDubMod15_Files' module.
The help (for both versions) is in the 'VirtualDubMod Help' module (see the HTML directory, 1.5.x doc is in the V1.5.x subdirectory).
As mentionned by Thomas Matern he mainly did changes in Job.cpp abd Job.h files.
Hope this will help interested people ... :)
