Pioneer AO5 question

I just purchased an AO5. I have been told by a colleague at work who has an HP writer that the pioneer can only burn CBR video. I have not been able to confirm this with several Google searches or seen it mentioned in FAQ's. Is this true?

Thanx. I think the confusion resulted from the read speed mentioned in one of the articles I found. He prob interpereted this as cbr/vbr.
