I'm becoming more and more liking dvd2one but that's gonna be on flicks most likely under 2 hours. If Erwin does what Reneb says in this thread than dvd2one is gonna be awesome!

"People please be patient, 1:1 copy will be released in time i can garantee you that!
Before we can make the 1:1 copy version we need to improve the quality control of the engine. And that's something we are doing right now, allong with certain fixes in the engine to improve VOB handling."
edit: would like to say/brag I got my dru500ax last night and I straight burned (didn't check 'write to hd first')from IC7 to dvd+rw with no problems. I had no navigational issues in my pioneer dvd player. I selected to remove all user prohibitions and when the fbi warning came up I pressed 'menu' on the remote and it took me right to the menu. And yes I was using the 'illegal' reg hack or whatever and only keep main movie and menus.
instantcopy looks better then dvd2one in that image comparison.
Notice the macroblocks under his eyes.

InstantCopy always will looks better for a 1:1 filesize comparision
the bigger the difference between the original video filesize and resulting filesize the bigger the difference
then add to that how people actually judge quality and what they use to view it and that's why some reckon DVD2One is better quality :)
you be hard pushed to see the difference on a 90min film between both, but on the big un's it's more than obvious
it's the pulsing blocks in the background that get to me, far too distracting and the loss of fine picture detail
hopefully all that will change with the new engine
p.s. the reg hack does work the majority of times, but sometimes IC does mess up removing them. It's a chance you take but it's better than wasting 2 hours and the burning a coaster if you remove them 1st with Ifoedit :)

wasting 2 hours...hehe...come on now I still remember the good old days of doing a CCE 3 pass vbr on the Sound of Music which took 33 hours on a PIII 450Mhz. As for the reg hack I think (until you find what works and doesn't) it's good to doing menu + main movie only or like MisterX says and do the whole enchilda (edit: lol...enchilada) 1:1.
People are getting confused as to what the reg hack actually enables you to do. All it does it's allows you to unselect titles and that's it. If you don't change DVDMagic to 1 and leave it at 0 then the titles are greyed with a check mark and you can't uncheck them.

lol, 2 hours are only wasted if it doesn't work
imagine doing a CCE using a ZX81, how many years? :D
I wanna know what the standard view can be hacked to show

mb1 says an update is coming out in a week or so. I think he knows this cuz he can read that German forum on pinnacle and perhaps they said so somewhere in there. Maybe that'll let us turn off encoding view. No idea though.

hey grasshopper MisterX
I will cut and paste from my guide
Click upper left corner on two cd icon and choose About. If it does not show 7.0.0.91 then take it back to the store and get the newer version. 7.0.0.80 is buggy.
Setup: 0031 7.0.0.80 Jan 15, 2003 --- on CD says: VERSION 7.0
Setup: 0039 7.0.0.91 Feb 05, 2003 --- on CD says: VERSION 7.0a

I easilly spotted the difference in this sample and the earlier posted Star Wars AOTC images.
The IC7 are certainly better than DVD2One on my TFT monitor.
This is also my findings with many of the films I've done. LOTR with DVD2one was ugly, IC7 was very acceptable (not as good as CCE blah blah blah). Also compared Exit Wounds,Chiken Run, Final Destination.
Again IC7 wins every time, even when you consider I keep more or less ALL extras and Audio.
I find it's worth a little bit of extra tweaking.... and I'm never really over concerned when it comes in a couple of hundred MB under either as it still looks fine.

nice to see someone else with an eye and components for quality :)
I was beginning to feel like a right loner :(, when I'm always saying quality is sometimes quite obvious
just tried CCE and it makes one helluva difference with the Godfather trilogy's quality compared with the usual suspects, just a bit awkward to rebuild keeping structure :(
p.s. where's my TV???, hurry up John Lewis!!!!!!!!!
there's a few northeasters on this forum so if your after a good 36" widescreen TV and live in North East UK, John Lewis Newcastle :spit: have a canny deal for a Sony KV36FS76 TV as they are throwing in a free Sony DAVS400 and free 5 year ext warranty for £1795 delivered and they also do a pricematch and this TV can be had for as low as £1400 in some places :)

Agreed m8,
CCE is without a doubt the daddy. I use it mainly for multi movie DVD's and it's awesome.
If Ifoedit let you remux the (CCE Created) M2V's straigh back into the vobs and let you correct VTS sectors the way it does with M2V's created by REMPEG, it would be the ultimate combo. Sadly having read over this forum it seems we're a long way off that. Scenarist does a great job of recreating a DVD but it's a tad more long winded than most have the time or patience for.
As it stands IC7, is the best of the 1 stop shop proggies I've tried, though I havent yet done anything with DVD9/5. Will probably give this a go at a later date and make my opinions then.

IfoEdit DOES let you remux the AC3 audio and CCE m2v. And it corrects the VTS sectors as well. I've been doing it this way for ages. Fastest and easiest way out there.
Use IfoEdit to get the chapters from the CellTimes in the
VTS_01_0.IF ->VTS_PGCITI -> VTS_PGC_1 by clicking on tools then "save celltimes."

yes it is for single PGC's, ifoedit is the easiest way to go :)
it's the multiple PGC's that get me all confused , AOTC rings a bell
why can't we have something like IC or DVD95Copy but also give you the option of using a CCE quality like encoder instead
I don't mind waiting a few hours for quality, as once I catch up with backups, it's not as if I'm gonna be backing 10 DVD's up everyday!
after trying the extremely sloooooooow trial of DVD95Copy (bug purposely left in), it looks like it gives better quqlaity movie images than IC when it comes to DVD's with larger extras & menu's cos for the size it compresses them to, the quality increase in the movie makes up for this
