I have read on here how to convert PDI to ISO and onto VTS. I have an ISO file on my drive which is too big for a DVD-r, how can I get this into Instant copy so that I can reduce the size. I cannot rip the film using file mode as there is some Brute Force Cracking Errors which do not seem to prevent the ISO image from bieng ripped. Thanks

what created the ISO?
what stage are you upto?
you sure you cant rip using Filemode?
what settings have you got in DVDDecrypter, have you tried mine?
I've only seen those bruteforce errors when trying to rip a DVD from a different region to the one the DVDROM is set at, but that's easily sorted :)
what DVD you doing and what region is it and what region is your DVDROM set too or is it multiregion?
If you give IC anything that isn't ripped properly you are asking for problems
I'm confused as to what you have done and what you are trying to do so far, as you mention converting PDI to ISO then to VTS
it's best just to convert the resulting PDI files to IFO/BUP/VOB files using PDITOOL without even using ISO

I have posted a thread elsewhere about the problem. I am trying to rip Spy Kids 2 R1 my drive is R2. Decrypter rips in file mode until it gets to around 60% then has problems with all the 8kb files at the beginning of each vts set. the error comes up as Brute Force Cracking Failed, Reason: There Were No Vulnerable Blocks. When I click OK Decrypter closes and I am left with only the files up to where the program stopped. I then ripped the same film in ISO mode, there was still an error message of Brute Force Cracking Failed but when I click OK it continues to rip. I now have an ISO file which I need to import into Instant Copy to reduce the size. I have ripped other R1 movies without any problems with Decrypter.

thought it was a different region DVD
http://eximius.nl/rs/files/driveinfo22.exe
download that tool and check your DVD-ROM info
then u can flash it and make it region free, or even get a software hack to make it region free

Why have I not had any problems in the past with R1 discs.

some you do, some you don't, I had the same grief before
it's upto you what you do now
I just flashed mine, but another DVDROM I have I can use a software hack instead
there may be other ripping methods but flashing was simple and I've done that for the last few years now everytime I get a new DVDROM

be careful and read instructions first
I flashed my old 104 no bother
looks like you will have to downgrade to 1.68, then use the 1.68 RPC-1
if you aint sure, dont do it

I see there is a firmware upgrade to region free for version 2.0 and a flash for burning Ritek at 2 x Speed and a 2 x for all firmware. Do I need to download and install the hacked UPGDVD.exe first.

I didnt see that!
I assumed they had the newer versions at the top!
I have d/l'd it, unzipped it and read the readme.txt and all it says is click on the UPGRADE.exe
looks as easy as that. But I would make sure you only have one DVDROM/CD DEVICE connected in case it tries to flash the wrong one. It should ask but always best to be careful

Firmware v2.00 for DVR-A03/103
RPC-1 only and RPC-1 + 2x4all patch
I hope ppl would be nice sufficient to maintain this file unedited and uncut.
I already seen some sites (bad sites) sharing this patched firmware without
ANY "thanks to", or something, and this is really bad, because we dedicated
months of hard work in order to made this dream into a reality.
I have even lost my old A03/103 on some "cool and crazy" (and expensive)
experience ( plz, not the XP one ;-) ), so I hope you'll share this TXT file
intact, as it is.
Intructions:
- unzip the files (doh!)
Now, just double click on UPGDVD.exe (total idiot proof? I think so... lol)
and that's it! You're done.

Do you have a step by step for flashing the firmware, I also need to overcome the region protection for Windows XP and Power DVD. I would be most grateful for a guide, when I went up to version 2.0 firmware I had to put the computer into the shop, it would not boot up after the flash.
Cheers

step by step?
I think you just click on the UPGRADE.EXE and that's it judging by the readme.txt in that zip file :D
v2.00 (RPC-1 + 2x for all)
Enable any media to burn @ 2x on DVR-A03/103
v2.00
I would go for that one
as for Windows and PowerDVD, just use DVDGENIE
http://www.inmatrix.com/files/dvdgenie_download.shtml and that sorts that problem out

I read somewhere that there are problems flashing firmware from version 2.0, you have to do it from a dos prompt. I may downgrade to 1.68 to make things easier. do you know anything about this.

I tried double clicking the upgrade exe file for v2.0, it said that my drive was already v2.0 so I still have a region 2 drive. I was sure I read somewhere that you have to do it in dos, there is a boot disc about somewhere. Anyway I'm not sure about that way. My options now are downgrade to 1.68 with the official flash then use the v6.68 rpc12xall would this be ok, Or what is the software option you mentioned earlier.
Thanks

I've overcome the problem and without risking everything by flashing my drive. I used the latest version of clacDVD, it ripped through the files without even a glitch. I now have a full backup of Spy Kids 2 on a DVDr. I tried both Instant Copy and DVD95copy and they both seem to be around the same quality, Instant copy is silghtly better but DVD95Copy is quicker. I suppose at the end of the day it depends what you want.
Thanks for everyones help.
