I've been using my Panasonic 321 DVD-RAM/-R recorder for about 6 months now and am generally pleased with it. A couple of weeks ago I installed a 120 GB HD so that I can have more room to mess with the large video files that I've been playing with. I'd like to be able to write back and forth to DVD-RAM while editing and then burn a DVD-R. I also have a Panasonic DMR-E20 set top recorder and I'd like to consolidate video from several DVD-RAM disks to one keeper. Sounds simple enough but this isn't covered in the Panasonic manual and I can't find a guide on this forum or elsewhere to help me through the basics.

I'm using Pinnacle's Studio 8 software for video editing and also have Nero 5.5 if that's any help.

I've used Google and visited the AfterDawn site and can't find answers there either.

Any help/advice/clues will be appreciated.

Just demux the .vob stream into m2v so you can edit them. DVDdecrypter can do this for you.

Note however MPEG2 isn't the best for editing as not every frame is a keyframe where as the DV codecs and motion JPEG codecs are.
