I have used the search on the site but can't find an exact thread matching my problem. I normally use DVD Decrypter for all my ripping needs but have come across a Brute Force Cracking Error so I switched to Smart Ripper. I have ripping speeds of 0.1 which is going to take for ever. I left it running overnight and it had only ripped 20%. I have never had any problems with DVD Decrypter with speed so I wasn't expecting any problem with Smart Ripper. Everyone else seems to have problems with both when they are experiencing speed problems. I am running Windows XP and have plenty of memory and drive space. Help

You have to install the Windows
ASPI driver (http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/driverdetail.html?sess=no&language=English+US&cat=%2fOperating+System%2fMicrosoft+Windows+XP&filekey=aspi_471a2.exe) and your ripping process will be much faster!!

I usually get the Brute Force Cracking Error on my liteon drive. I've noticed there seems to be quite afew having the same problem with this drive. But no solution as yet I think....

Are you using a liteon drive?

Have you tried to enable DMA mode in your OS (in your case, Windows XP)? It'd boost up the transfer rate a lot higher.
