Harddisk space needed for batch converting 6 hours of movies.

I want dvd2svcd to convert 3 movies (6 hrs total) over the weekend. how much free space do I need for this? also, do I just choose to rip only on the three movies, then when I want it to start converting, just hit Convert? is that how batch processing works? or do I hit the Run dvd2svcd Batch?

I also forgot to ask if I need to rip each movie in it's own directory or can I just put all three movies in the same directory.

Yes you will need to rip them to different directories.

You will need space for each movie VOB's, which can vary from 3GB's to up to 7GB's each. You will also need enough space for each of the cd's you create. So if you are making 2 cd's for each movie then figure 1.6Gb's for each movie. Then I would add at least 7GB's for various extra files. You can save some space by not checking do not delete files. This will delete some of the middle files.

So I would think 20-25Gb's would be OK as long as they are not epic movies. To be safe you might want to uncheck that don't delete files.

Now that I think of it you might need a little more. Go by what mrbass says as he has done this and I haven't.

I used to do the same..rip 3 movies over a weekend sometimes. I logged in remotely to work (radmin) via vpn and deleted the vobs once one was done. Well that's back when I was tight on diskspace and now I'm ok so I don't need to anymore.

IIRC I had about 40GB or more if I didn't delete the vobs...about 15 to 20GB per movie.
