I've got a serious problem with CCE 2.66

I've got a serious problem with CCE 2.66.01.07. :
I couldn't change bitrate (avg min/max) after adding *.vdr movie
from VirtualDub. CCE set up it automatically and the values are
really low...
The second problem is that during compression CCE sometimes hang up and it doesn't tell me anything (no message window).
Please help

Did you double-click over the CCE entry line?

After adding it (*.vdr) to CCE you have to double-click on the line entry you're seeing. Then, you can change all you want.
