I've made a test to compress a movie from a avi source using dvd2svcd 1.1.2 and wth 1.0.8 and let me tell u the perfomance diference was HUGE with a XP 2800+ using dvd2svcd 1.1.2 I got in CCE a maximum speed of 2.300 while with dvd2svcd 1.0.8 I got over 3.000 this with both at deffault. Let me tell you that I've runed this tested several times and with same movie and at least 20 times with diferent movies and the results are consistent 1.0.8 is much faster.
Anybody can explain me this ? Any change in settings ? The quality seemed to be the same with both versions. I'm starting to think in using both versions 1.1.2 when I need to use subtitles and the other for the rest of the movies.

Take a look in the Avisynth Script produced by dvd2svcd. I bet you'd see a difference!

Here are the logs, the experiment was done using the same file and both versions were freshly installed and then I changed some options on both versions.

Here is the log with the latest version where I got a maximum speed of 1970 ( if I put at High priority I can get a maxium of 2300-2400).

I repeat that I freshly installed both versions only changed bit rate, removed add audio sample and stuff like that but did the same stuff to both. 640 points in this case or 1000 points that I use to get are huge diferences specialy because I didnt noticed any huge diferences in quality. Wich setting from later versions could be pulling the CCE speed back ?

Just a toght, thanks for any help Dvd2Svcd and congratulations for the wonderfull job.

I think I've found something in 1.0.8 you have Simple Resize while with the recent version you have bi cubic resize but could this mean such a huge diference ? Gonna try it again.

Yeap it was that sorry for the dumm question never noticed that u changed those deffault settings. By the way is it the quality really better with bicubic resizing ?

Yes it is, imho.

IMO Simple is a little soft, but really fast.
Bicubic is a bit sharper and I like it much better, but it is slower.
