A/V desync, 'use source audio' checkbox

I'm trying to convert some TV-rips (MPEG-2, 44kHz-224kbps) to SVCD's.

During several encoding tests I finally noticed that my A/V desync problems were obviously caused by running the Extracted_audio_1.mpa through BeSweet, creating Encoded_audio_1.mp2. If I simply exchange these two, the created SVCD's are perfectly N'Sync ;-) , as long as I don't use CD overlap.

Then I discovered an option in DVD2SVCD's audio tab: Do not convert audio (use source audio). But it was greyed out, and I didn't find a way to get access to that (damn) checkbox. Searching the forum for a hint revealed ~1355 hits for do AND not AND convert AND audio, but after reading the first 10-15 hits I got to understand that the search engine was checking for the words, not for the sentence.
Therefore, I didn't find a hint to solve my problem, not even in ReadMe's changelog, nor the guides on dvd2svcd.org, nor the tags in dvd2svcd.ini.

So, may I kindly ask for an explanation how to get access to the checkbox, if someone has it? It would simply help me get rid of some extra work & time.

On the CD Image tab, click "Don't make images". This will enable the source audio check box.

So that means I can either have CD images OR (sorry for the caps) use the source audio?

Then I think I'll stick to my old way ... ;-)

At least, until some kind soul (hint, hint) will enable this checkbox generally...

If you check use source audio you could wind up with the wrong audio format such as ac3 audio that will not work on your DVD player.

For it to work correctly the original audio has to be mp2 audio and this is rare on anything other then vcd/svcd compliant mpeg video.

It may be better to figure out why Besweet converted audio is out of sync since this is a more long term solution.
