Hi,

I am newbie. During a DVD backup, Dvd2svcd was working on TMPGEnc. After 20+ hours, I come back and see that the TMPGEnc window is gone and no error message in the .log file. I tried to RECOVER by going to MISC-RECOVER-and start the .d2s file. I get the error:
"The System cannot find the specified file"
So in my foolish attempt to re-start the process, I tried to run TMPGEnc manually by running the .tpr file. This overwrote the 20+ hour of encoding I had previously completed.

So, my question is since the .d2s file did not work. Is there anyway I can start from where I left off(instead from the begining) ?

log file attached.

Thanks and pls advice..
Syed

I figured out the problem after I read a posting on another thread.

Here is what I had to do:

1) Find the IFO file. Go to 'Conversion' and click on the folder icon next to the CD icon. Find and load the IFO file.
2) Click on the '...' icon next to the CD and make sure all your VOB file are there, if not, add the path to where the VOB file are.
3) Go to 'DVD Rip' and Disable the RIP button(because the VOBs are have already been ripped).
4) Go to 'Misc-Conversion' and Hit 'Go'.

I did not need to do a 'Recover' and load the .d2s because it was not a Crash. Not sure why my TMPGEnc did not initially finish.

Then DVD2SVCD goes thru these multiple(about 5/6 times)thru some xxxx_xx_CQ_TEST (which I am not sure). It calculates these CQ value and re-runs.

After this is done. It is a breeze and I get the final Cue/Bin files.

Oh..What a relief. Somehow in the Q&A section or all the Docs I have ready, it does not spell out the steps one has to take to 're-start' the DVD2SVCD process if it had not finished for some reason.

Like I said, the above worked for me.
