I've seen the screen shots for these and they look really similar. Which one is better/has better features/easier to use.
THanks

Scenarist, as far as I know, will do everything DVD allows you to do. It's very technical, very picky about what it allows, and very complicated. Maestro I have no experience with, but I understand that it's simpler to use.

Scenarist would want to be good for the $1,000's it costs :p
*edit*
Seriously though, I think someone like DOOM9 or someone with a decent level of experience in both will be able to give you some depth to your answer. I dare say this question has been asked before, have you tried a search?

12) How NOT to post on this forum:
5 minutes after your initial post you reply to your own post writing something like "Why is nobody helping me? I'm sure you know the answer".
Once somebody replies to your thread but doesn't give you exactly the answer you've been expecting you insult them.
Do not ask "what's best" because this question cannot be answered objectively. Each and everyone has their own view about what's best in a certain area. The best is what works best for you!
however, DVDMaestro and Scenarist are basically the top two off the shelf DVD Authoring apps. DVDMaestro is know to be the easiest to use, but Scenarist does a few more things (better MultiPGC handling, among other things).
by looking thru some of the larger threads in the advanced forum you will see that some of the very advanced stuff we have tried can definately be done on Scenarist, but may or may not be entirely possible on DVDMaestro.
for example, white rabbit extras can be done on both, but animated subtitles can only be done on Scenarist (DVDMaestro has a minim limit of 15 frames (probably is 1 GOP) for a single subtitle).
altho there is no trial/demo of either of them, in that price range you will try them out at the distributer before putting down that large of an investment. but of course you can only get Scenarist now anyway ;)

Thanks for the info.
My concern was that one might be able to handle ac3 within the prog and the other might not or require another prog. I have vob files from thx demos that I want to make a compilation of and want to maintain the ac3 audio and have a simple menu that leads into each demo. I am having issues with an audio delay when I split the vobs to edit and I have tried correcting them but can't seem to get it to work. Is there another prog that would handle this better?
Thanks
