Trying to shrink the extras on road to Perdition, specifically the deleted scenes. This title set has 11 PGC's, so I copied to a working directory, used IFOEdit to create new IFOs, renamed to original vob, copied back to original directory, ran IFOUpdate, but it says the chapters don't match up. Does "create chapter for each cell" need to be checked? Any suggestions?

I have the DVD sitting here next to me

no. 90398, one Region 1 Canadian version

is this the same DVD as yours?

what program are you using to shrink? and are you trying to make a 1:1 backup?

multiple PGC's can be complicated but managable on most occasions

cheers

Yes, it is region one.
Using dvd2one to compress.
Trying to compress VTS 3, which is deleted scenes. 11 PGC's in all.
I ran it through IFOEdit to create new IFO, but when I update with IFOUpdate, the chapters don't match up. I don't have much experience with multiple PGC's, so any help is appreciated.

I will have to have a look at the ifo contents, before making a suggestion but the last time I had troublw with multiple PGC's it took me ages to get it to work and that was with Star Wars AOTC

so it's the same DVD no.?

have you tried remuxing with Ifoedit?

off the top of my head, I would use compress all the PGC's within the VOB to there own VOB, then strip each one using Vobrator to create an .m2v file

then join them all together again, then remux that video file with original VOB

or something like that, can't remember exactly but along the lines of

I may just be talking pants but I'm sure you can do it that way also

I will come back with more suggestions if I get a better idea when I look at the DVD myself later today

:)

I did the Region 1 version of this disc last night. No problems here. I separately compressed VTS's 1, 2, and 3 with the DVD2one method as I recall.

How did you handle VTS 3? When I open up dvd2one, it shows each of the PGC's in VTS 3. Do you compress each one individually then recombine them somehow?

Copy it to a blank directory, let IFOEDIT recreate the IFOS -- it will then show as as single PGC. Use DVD2one to shrink, then rename/copy it back to original directory and use IFOUpdate in Adjusted mode to update it.

The full sequence is documented -- search for "Quick Guide"

Mucho appreciado. I'll try that.
I think the problem was that I didn't have IFOUpdate in adjusted mode.
I was doing everything else correctly. I've read you're quide before,
but I guess it didn't click. Thanks again.

I tried Instant Copy 7.0 and it works perfectly :(
