Hi, I have a problem. I have recently gotten a DVD-R drive so I have started doing all my encodes at 1-pass, full quality and then I would *like* to interleave all the sound tracks as ac3 to get the best audio quality.
However, when I use AVIMux to do this with more than one ac3 stream, my processor utilization shoots from ~30% to full load, no matter the stream types, and I get laggy audio and stuttering film. This is also seemingly independent of my DIVX settings b/c everything is ok w/only one stream like i said. Also, my drives go at about 16MB/sec according to Nero's tests, so I don't think it is a drive issue.
I have tried fiddling with AVIMux's settings without any successs. For now I have tried:
OpenDML, no legacy index, rec-lists, interleave 250kb and preload 500ms.
Does anyone have any ideas about this or workarounds or something?
System specs: I have a dual Duron 1ghz system w/512MB RAM and a geforce2, winxp sp1, wmplayer 9 series, divx 5.03, a cmedia onboard audio thinger and ac3 filter is set to 2/0 output.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
