DVD Sheep

Tried it, hate it. Here is why:
"wow you can keep and remove menu's!"
Remove stuff and your project goes to waste! Can you say 'coaster'? Seriously, if you tick of some VTS it will usually render your project useless. The way the program works you will not notice this until after you have burned it!
"let's you select different subtitles!"
Right... This does not work, trust me. Just keep English and ONE foreign language. You will never see the foreign language ever again. Either you will get a different language than the one you selected, or it is simply not present.
"better quality than dvd2one!"
So you're telling me that inspite the fact that IC wastes precious DVD+/-R space with stupid trailers and menu options you will never ever use, usually wasting about 1 Gb or more, it is STILL better than dvd2one? Sure...
"but you can remove all those trailers and extra's and stuff!"
Clearly you have not read this thread too well. Start at the beginning again please.
"it has a build in burner!"
So does Windows XP. You don't use that either, do you!
"it will create .pdi files which you can burn directly!"
There is this little option in IFOEDIT which I like to use. Actually I use it on almost every dvd I author. It's called "Region Free". You might have heard about it? I would like the option to edit the processed files, but by default this is not possible.
"but there is software which can create .iso from your .pdi and you can then mount a virtual drive and then you edit video_ts!"
This is not supported by the original software. That's the whole point. Imagine this. Say you would like to backup a music cd's. Would you go to all this trouble to backup a music cd? (converting them to some exotic format which no other software can use, and than burning them only with that specific program?)
"but it will make backups with just a few clicks of your mouse"
All the new dvd software seem capable of doing backups with just a few clicks. Furthermore, did any of you googled for just how many movies this program CAN NOT backup?
I bought all 3 major backup programs: dvd2one, dvdxcopy and IC. I only regret buying the last one. So many people claim that IC is the way to go/ best thing that ever happened to them/ new religion/ universal peace maker/ add sarcastic comment here. I have tried and I feel betrayed. I tried 20 different dvd's and ONLY ONE came out the way I wanted it to. All other 19 did not do what I wanted. Sure most would play the movie, but most would also crash if I selected an option which I had removed. Furthermore, as English is not my native language, I like to keep extra subtitles. This only worked on the one mentioned. And I'm not even touching the speed issue.
You can get around all these problems. Don't erase any of the subtitles and don't erase any of the needless 'bonus' stuff. You can transcend all the 'other' stuff at the lowest possible setting. Then you should ask yourself the question: Do I really want to waste space on something I don't want on it in the first place? Shouldn't I save more room for the movie and possibly an extra audio track for better playback performance? Why don't I just use dvd2one then?
Then there are those who argue that all 3 programs are great and that you should use a different tool for different movies. I will join this group of people. I am still waiting for the one movie IC is the right tool for...
Just my 2 cents.

Without starting a flame: this is my personal humble opinion. Bash it if you want, but this is just my warning for those who haven't tried it yet. I know there are fanatics among you. I just try to keep an open mind and have really tried all three programs. I'm not in favor of any of them: I just really dislike IC.
