Worth me doing a guide for IC7 ?

Now, I am a total newbie (well, compared to most here anyway), so I feel stupid even thinking about posting a guide as no doubt it will be like teaching your gran to suck eggs. But I thought I would ask anyway.

The way I backup a DVD with copy protection is via....

1. DVD Decryptor
2. ISO Buster
3. Instant Copy 7

Is it worth me telling people a way to do it via the above software ? Or is it already easy common knowledge ? I just backed up a copy protected 9gb DVD to a 4gb DVD-R doing it the above way with all extras and menus.

Anyway, if any other newbies want to know then let me know and I will post it here, but like I said, no doubt this is real simple stuff to everyone else out there. I just wanted to give something constructive back to the forum (but obviously it has to be within my ability level). No doubt everyone does it this way or even simpler (probably cutting out ISO Buster), so don't flame me for being stupid :)

Which brings me to making this thread worthwhile just in case it has no other use. How about everyone tells each other a step progress on how they convert a copy protected DVD9 to a DVD5 via IC7 ?

If you compressed 9GB worth of data down to 4GB, I imagine the quality of the resulting video can't be very good. I think it's unreasonable to expect to be able to compress video this much (to less than 50% of original size) and still get a decent result. With a DVD this big, you should have at least stripped out everything but the main movie (or even just did a 1-to-1 copy over two DVDRs.)

I'm just about to a post up showing what settings I have and how I do it as IC works faultlessly everytime for me with everything I throw at it (35 DVD's onto 36 now)

People are saying use this mode for ripping, try this, try that, try everything else and going round in circles

People who get it to work 100% of the time should input their settings and methods to help people who have difficulties, so that's why I've decided to help others

p.s. stripping Titles with IC is a BIG NO NO!, destroys DVD structure on some occasions

I'm doing this as my 3 friends who all now are trying the IC demo have no problems when I have set their machines up and told them what to do and watch out for and they all think it's a great program, so if it works for those 3 why not the majority of others?

I don't know if you have web site access or not for posting. But if you want to post some screen shots - I will put them on a web page for you. Just let me know. I would really like to see your settings. I have had a few blowups of late and could use the knowledge.

I have posted numerous hints/tips/no no's/suggestions/howto's etc all over this forum, so I'm gonna gather all this info and try to make some sort of guide for users of all levels of knowledge

I have not tried using InstantCopy yet. I would really like to have a guide that works. Please do send me a guide and i will see if i can get it to work. I did finally get DVD2ONE to work with the menus but the movie quality is not ok for me. If IC is better quality wise i will stick to it.
