When using DVD2SVCD, the entire process for creating an svcd is completed and in the end I have cue/bin image files. I can record these files to a cd-r using cdrwin with no problems. However, when I try to copy the cd, I get an error reading the cd in both cdrwin and nero. Anyone know what the problem is? Is it in creating the bin files during dvd2svcd process?

Thanks

Hi-

If you're trying to do a 1:1 copy (from CD to CD), then you might try to put them back on the hard drive as image files again and burn off of that.

I am trying to make a cd image. It is unable to create a cd image. I get an error reading the cd. However, the cd plays just fine on the computer and on a standalone dvd player. Then only program that is able to make a cd image is clone cd.

Hi.......I can't see how the problem could be in any way related to DVD2SVCD, as your failure seems to be concerning the copying of a disc that has already been successfully burned from your cue/bins, but there is much that I don't know. I use Nero, so anything that I say here of burning discs will be specific to Nero as per my own experience. If I read you correctly, you are using "disc at once" rather than "on the fly". On the fly images can be a bit unstable. You might try enabling your "overburn" option, this has bailed me out a couple of times, but other than that, I would get with the search button and see what kind of help I could get through it. Wish I could be of more help.

It is a strnage problem. The svcds that some groups release I can copy (not copying on the fly, image file, then burn). The ones I create, I can't create an image from the burned disk.

You might want to check out this Sticky (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43617/) from the DVD2SVCD Basics forum. It will help give you a better idea of how things work here.

that stickey has nothing to do w/ what my problem is.

I'm saying that the SVCD I make, once its recorded onto a cd from an image file, It can't be copied. I can't create an image file from the recorded svcd.

Hi-

that stickey has nothing to do w/ what my problem is.

Maybe, but it does have something to do with what your problem might be if you continue to mention illegally downloaded movies. ammck55 was just trying to gently remind you of the Forum Rules (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm).

However, back to your problem. You mentioned earlier Clone CD. What problem did you have with that program? Earlier this evening I copied about 25 of my own SVCDs using image files created by Clone CD. Some of the SVCDs were originally made using DVD2SVCD, some were made manually, and some were from....friends. But they all were copied with no problem. Create the image. Burn the image. I tested them all and they all played fine in my standalone DVD Player.

"some were from....friends." So, I download movies illegally, and you LEGALLY borrow movies "from friends". Gotcha.

Anways, I don't want to argue, its obvious my posts were misread w/ assumptions.

Please REREAD my post again...

I wrote... "Then only program that is able to make a cd image is clone cd." That means I do NOT have a problem w/ clone cd.

I do not have a problem w/ clone cd.
And as far as the svcds that groups release, do not assume I download/distribute illegal movies. again, READ carefully what I'm writing.

I said, an image file that is recorded (FOR TEST PURPOSES ONLY!!!!) that was released by some group is recorded onto a blank cd. I CAN then create an image in the CUE/BIN format using CDRWIM or an iso image using NERO from that recorded cd.

NOW, this is the problem I have. When I use dvd2svcd, at the end, the program creates CUE/BIN files. I am able to record these images onto blank CD's. After the cd is recorded, I CAN'T create an image file from that cd using cdrwim or Nero. I CAN do it w/ clone cd however.

This is a very strange problem that I can't seem to figure out. Both versions will play in a stand alone player just fine. One however can't be copied once its recorded.

And a general note, the illegal / legal disclaimer...in REALITY, that is the number 1 reason most of these svcds are created anyway. Learning experience? for some. Backups of dvds you own? HAH. For the masses, its distribution. We have the right to privacy and do not need to disclose what we do...please do not assume
