Over the past 4 weeks since RC1 we have been hard at work on listening to everyone's great feedback here in the Doom9 forums as well as in you emails and bugtracker reports.
We have now released TCMP 4.0 RC2 and are very happy with the results. Here are a few bullet points from this release.
- CDA/CDDB support
- Windows XP AutoPlay Integration
- NEW OS Shell Integration
- New Version Update Notification
- Added Support for Matroska Audio and Video files!
- MPEG Sound Optimizations
- Optimized Player Startup/Close
Plus close to 100+ additions, fixes, and changes!!
There is still alot to do.... and it looks like we will have at least 2-3 more Release Canidates before our official 4.0 Final.
Note: It is suggested that you uninstall RC1 before you install RC2. We will add this ability to the NSIS after the weekend.

@CoreCodec/-Coded crew
this time you really did an incredible job. RC1 vs. RC2 is like black and white!!
RC2 is more than great, it's near perfect. Speaking in terms of a user and not a developer this release is ready to be called Final.
Thank you Core, especially BlackSun!!
alas I still have noticed some tiny things...
the equalizer:
I really like the presets (do I know them from winamp ;) ) but if TCMP is closed and opened again the equalizer is set to default and presets and/or self saved settings are gone with the wind - only way is to load them again. What do you think of "TCMP always loads the last stored setting" until the user decides something else - like in winamp.
option/ audio/ Dynamic Equalizer:
the 'dynamic range control' is always set to 0dB but if you hit 'Defaults' than it's (more or less) 4dB?? I'd like to have 4dB as default value if I'm in the position to "demand" something. :)
That's it folks. I must say the default visual interface is the best I've ever seen, the buttons... lovely buttons
aah, and thanks robUx4 for your great ogg.theme at least the beginning of the track ;)
uhh, still one thing. How do I get TCMP play on my TV. I had something similar with MPC. I shuffle the player on my TV and hit 'Fullscreen' (or a double_click) and as a result I have a nice full screen on my PC (1st monitor). :D
The solution for MPC was holding the shift key while goin' into fullscreen... et voilá I could watch my movies on my TV in fullscreen mode. Unfortunately I'm to dumb to find a similar solution for TCMP... and as a result their's (still) no go for me viewing my movies in fullscreen_mode on TV...
to cut a long stoy short: thumbs up!!! great player!!!
Regards
Sill

ah thanks for the great feedback :) That kind of comments are very motivating !
Be sure your comments are now in our minds, we're adding features little by little.
For the TV-Out thing, check in the hotkey configuration, there is a key to cycle monitors. if your TV-Out is emulating another monitor, then it should work fine ;)

Well, actually the music is more my friend (Urban $#!+ aka DaTraxer) that me. I just made the mix and added the voice :)

as long as I don't have donated a dime (I'll wait for your final ;) ) it's the only way to show congrats and respect to the dev_team

thank you, Sir...
btw, if multiple movies are loaded in the playlist the equalizer gets reset for every movie

don't let Chris have his eyes on this :D
your mix is great... but the voice
what do you think of a St. Germain/ Todd Edwards vocal like mix
thanks a lot
regards Sill
Edit//
let me ask you one more question... why is it nessecary to override the "show window contents while dragging" windows feature?? I'm disabling it and TCMP overrides it :(

I didn't find any text to speech to do that :)
I also tried many effects on the voice, but in the end only a Detuner managed to give life...
The voice was produced on a Mac :D

Well, check in the audio options for a setting called auto-load equalizer, and disable it.

I'll fix that

As a post follow-up.... and since a few of you have asked. Toff has been hard at work and very shortly we should have MPC, APE and MAD Filters for TCMP. This will all be released with source codes for your pleasure ;-)

OGM's jerk about like an SOB in this player. Looverly. Even with DirectSound enabled. Seems to eat CPU.
