Hi,
I'm pretty new to DVD-R creation so I need to get these questions answered once (when I've mastered it once, I'll learn from it :)
I just got the RC2 of Road to Perdition and want to backup it to a DVD-R. I checked out the DVD and it contains more than 8 GB of stuff. The menu is about 700 Megabytes alone, the movie is about 5.5GB but includes three audio tracks of which I would strip one (director's comments). The rest is extras which I don't need. The DVD has some BS in front of the menu (FBI warning and 20th Fox Logo) which I also don't need. I know how to disable menu buttons so that's not the problem.
I want to transcode the movie (and maybe the menu since it's that huge) using DVD2One 1.0.2. I know how to use that tool, but my question is - how do I put it back together? I mean, DVD2One outputs VOB files which are totally different from the old ones, how exactly do I fix the menu so it does still work with the transcoded VOBs? And is it possible to reencode the menu aswell *without* destroying it's functionality? It probably can be done with IFOEdit but I don't have a clue *how*.
Can anyone give me a detailed and easy to understand guide on how to do all these things? If you need details on the DVD, I can post whatever you need.
It could be that these questions have been posted already, but honestly, I didn't find anything related to ripping the main movie with dvd2one while retaining the menus (or if I did, I couldn't figure it out).
Thanks for help, phlux
P.S. I just reviewed the menu with dvd2avi and found out that there are separate pages for english and german language. I would like to strip the english menu too :)
