Does the S3 ProSavageDDR which is builtin on my VIA-KM266 motherboard support YV12?

I've got Directx8, ZP, ffdshow and ffdshow always autoselect YUV2. When I force it to YV12 by disable all the others, I get a error on playback. I also tried graphedit with no luck, its stuck at yuv2.

any s3 user can test this out? i am using the latest drivers for xp.

Can you get a real video card? Integrated graphics ALWAYS suck. I recommend getting a cheap Radeon 9000. They are cheaper than the 8500LE nowadays, and still decent performers (although an 8500LE is faster).

Would have love to get a ati card if not for my budget, the cheapest ati card here cost almost the same as my all-in-1 mboard.

With a 1000mhz duron, 256meg and this m/b i've got a acceptable box for playback on my living room tv.

Only worry is ffdshow is hitting 100% util. most of the time, so i was hoping to squeeze some performance with YV12, but end up puzzled why such a recent m/b cannot do YV12. Hoping it is some config error on my part that some of you here got a solution to or similar setup to compare.

I had a trouble some time ago with a friend sis-crappy video card, in a desktop res. of 1024*768 the video playback hit the 100% of cpu, but mysteriously when I lowered the resolution to 800*600 all problems had gone.... crapy drivers....

My card is set to 640x480x32 resolution, latest driver from http://ranger.s3graphics.com/swlib/420drv/. Looks like noone else here have a config similar to mine.
