View Full Version : Video plays too fast

I just installed Gordian Knot. Afterwards, all of my previous DivX movies encoded with MP3 audio at 24k bits/second play too fast. The video seems to go back at twice the speed as the audio (which sounds fine).
Has anyone seen this and if so, do you know how to fix it.
Thanks in advance...

Hi and welcome to the forum-
Are you saying that before installing GKnot the videos were fine, and now they're not? That's really strange. I've heard of that before, but not anyone trying to blame it on GKnot. The problem, of course, is that crap 24kHz audio of yours. Don't use it. What player are you using, and please don't say you use the WinAmp player. Maybe try a different player, like the BS Player, or Zoom Player. Maybe install the audio filters from the download section of this site. Perhaps someone else has a better solution.

Well, I'm not saying that Gordian Knot itslef (the executable) is causing the problem. But I'm thinking that it must install sound codecs -- and that messed with my original installation.
I've tried the lastest microsoft player, the Playa (DivX), and power DVD -- they're all the same in terms of playing movies back too fast.
I guess I'll have to dump encoding at 24K per channel MP3 -- what a shame too. I know there are lots of people on here who love the high quaility stuff, but for movies filled with dialog, 24K sounds just fine to me -- and it hardly takes up any space at all.
Thanks for the reply.

I've encoded a lot of movies with 48kbps sound, mine play fine using the core media player (check the downloads section of doom9)
