Hi everyone, i already asked that quesion, but i still can't get it work properly. The problem that i cannot normally watch movies coded with development builds of xvid and use ffdshow at the same time. If i just try to play such movie - i can see very many stron artifacts(mostly near moving objects). When i unistall ffdshow and Nic's decoder is taking ffdsho's place - everyting is perfict- no artifacts.
Somebody advised me to shich off "xvid - decode using xvid" option in ffdshow - doesn't make any difference. Even if i shitch off all ffdshow features (even post-processng) video is garbed.
So,please, does anyone know some method hwo can i see xvid movies coded by development's (unstable) builds AND use ffdshow.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
P.s i need ffdshow because i have poor cpu -400mhz cel. With it's automatic quality control movies are played normally, without ffdshow, i have to switch post AT ALL, otherwise movies get stuck(not enugh cpu)

as usual, I can only speak for myself... these are the settings I'm using to view nearly any video with ffdshow (concerning this thread, no matter what kind of xvid_dev):
1. supported codecs:
- enable every codec except: MPEG1/2 and MJPEG [in my case I won't choose "use xvid" or "use Libmpeg2"]
2. supported output colorspaces:
- I've never had any problem enabling every colorspace(s)
- sometimes "use overlay mixer"
3. Postprocessing:
- tick 'Presets' and enable 'Automatic quality control'
- control_slider set to maximum and 'Processing strength' set to 256
- 'Processing method': I'm just enabling 'mplayer' and nothing else
4. Blur & NR (Noise reduction) :
- I'm using 'Gradual Denoise' set to 10 and nothing else.
5. Sharpen:
- this is a matter of taste and depends on my source but for the most part I'm using these settings:
- tick 'asharp' and 'high quality block filtering' as well,
- 'unsharp masking threshold' set to 1.5,
- 'adaptive sharpening strenght set to 4 and last but not least
- 'Block adaptive sharpenning' set to 2.
that's it... nothing else. In my case my movies look just great but maybe your CPU won't allow so much ffdshow_filtering. You should check the 'Miscellaneous'_tab as well and look for 'Workaraound encoder bugs:' set to 'autodetect' but that option is usually set as default.
I hope you will get your movies to work and have fun watching them...
cheers Sill
P.S.:
I've made some screenshots for you (if it's too difficult to understand my english)... if you're in luck than they will get approved by a moderator if not, bad luck ;)

Thanks sillKotscha! With your help finally solved the problem. I started to look at your settings and saw that i miss some of them. So that made me thing you are using other/newer version of ffdshow. I went to ffdshow site found there some newer build that i am using: 20030103Alpha. And what do you think? Although this is alpha now everyghins works great!!
Thank you againg.
And thanks doom9 team for such a good place.
