avi to dvd

what im trying to do is the opposite to most of you i want too convert a avi file to dvd format
ive got films ive d/loaded from the internet mainly avi files around 700 mb i want to watch them on my dvd player (ps2) i have a dvd writter pioneer ao5 with 4.7 gig disks but i cannot fit them on that size disk this is my problem if any one can help please do so many thanks sharki
