there is a new version of mpegable avi for free. here some pasted details from the web.
- Encoding and decoding
- MPEG-4 Visual conformity (ISO/IEC 14496-2)
- Support for Simple and Advanced Simple Profile (including 1/4 pixel motion estimation)
- User dialog allows individual configuration
- Integrated pre-processing for down-sampling and de-interlacing
- Video resolutions up 2048x2048
- Real-time encoding for live capture
- Scalable from 15 kBit/s to 30 MBit/s
- Automatic scene cut detection
Input/Output
- Input format (Encoder): RGB (BGR24, BGR32)
- Output format (Encoder): MPEG-4 Visual (DM4V)
- Output format (Encoder): MPEG-4 Visual (DIVX)
- Input format (Decoder): MPEG-4 Visual (DM4V)
- Input format (Decoder): MPEG-4 Visual (DIVX)

you can create divx files too.
there is also a new version of mpegable x4 live, which i mostly use. really happy with it and the new version has no restrictions (bitrate, res) anymore ;-)
