I already asked this question on the DVD2one/InstantCopy board, but the thread moved down and down with noone replying. Maybe the IfoEdit gurus don't read that board regularly...?
Well, what I tried to do was the following:
-ripping two DVDs (LOTR SEE, consists of 2 dics) to hard disc as elementary stream files
-authoring these files (1x m2v, 1x ac3, 1x sup and chapterlist each) with IfoEdit 0.96b1 (to generate one DVD from the previous two)
I corrected the vts sectors and gave the subtitles the correct color via the paste and copy method in IfoEdit.
Thus the new DVD files should be in a perfect state, as they played well in the software player (I did the same using a re-encoded video stream instead and it played well, too).
But that was only the first part.
Now I tried to use these authored files as the input for InstantCopy but it complained with "Corrupted DVD source file". I used the same source with DVD2one and it accepted the files and worked as it should.
So I conclude that InstantCopy hat some specific problems with the ifo files made by IfoEdit.
I used this method especially to remove all crap, since InstantCopy won't remove the menu and other stuff. I also wanted an equal basis for a comparison between several re-encoding/transcoding methods.
Furthermore I compared the ifo files made by DVD2one with the source files previously done with IfoEdit, but I found nothing that gave me a hint.
So, has anyone a clue what InstantCopy is exactly complaining about?
