What's the chance of 4 HDs mbr corrupt?

I woke up this morning to computer hell. What is the chance of 4 harddrives all being corrupted. Am I paranoid or did I get zapped? I did find I had a stick of memory go bad, but I would not think that would have anything to do with it.

I have a router/firewall on my cable modem and I run Kerio personal firewall on all the machines.

Man! What a crappy day. I lost everything.

Sorry, man.

I'd say chance is good to corrupt 4 HDs with broken RAM. I had this once and couldn't even install an OS on that machine. Seems that everything that gets cached in RAM will be written back as pure nonsense.

Good luck, and hopefully you've got backups of your important stuff.

DDogg I feel your pain, I've lost my data drive once. Taught me how important backups are. It took me around 6 months to replicate the data I lost. Hopefully you can salvage something.

Does anybody know of any freeware data recovery tools? I downloaded the on-track data recovery demo and it shows all my files. I am sorry to say it is not in my budget at the moment.

Maybe try PC Inspector ... I used Tiramisu before (when it was still shareware), but then it got bought up by Ontrack :(.

Thanks, I was able to use a friends copy of Ontracks Easyrecovery to get some stuff. An amazing program to have in your toolbox.
