Ok first apologies for what might be stupid questions but hey you have to learn somehow

I have backed up my copy of Midnight Express finally and tried to burn it onto a CD 700mb using Nero but the film is to big 116 minutes. What is the best way of splitting the movie, or cutting opening & closing credits, to fit onto two CD's or is there a way of fitting it onto one ? If splitting it into 2 is there a way I can put a prompt to 'please change disc'??
What software do I need & where can I get it ? i have virtualdub abd gnot.

Finally the only dvd player I have is a Sony playstation 2. If I do put the film onto 1 or 2 discs would it play on this or do I have to invest in a DVD player ?

Any help welcome

What is the actual size of your file if it's less than 800MB you could consider making an xcd with the the file.
If thats not the case try this.
Use virtualdubmod to split your DivX file. Just open the file and set your start point move the slider to the point where you want to split the file and set that as your end point. Just make sure you split point is a keyframe (denoted by a K in brackets beside the file size).
Set video and audio to direct stream copy and save the file. Repeat this for the other half of the movie.
I know theres probably much easier ways to do that, but it's just the method I use.
As for playing this on your PS2 try this http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=28205&highlight=ps2
