AT LAST!! Access. I did have a problem with GK and no audio, what caused it exactly I dont know but it was just after I got divx-pro working (as per guide). Still, after reinstalling for the umteenth time, it works OK again. Nice prog still, I'm very greatfull. Thanks to who ever.
One moan and one question.
The moan.
I like the prog GK because it does now work, and works nice. I dont know or care if its not quite this or that, its easy-ish for me a non tekky person with a good result. I dont expect noddy language but simple english and a numbered sequence on all the different pop up progs would be usefull. With the above and even reading all the guides I could understand, I was still a bit lost and didnt know if the error was me or the prog. I definitly dont like the last encode window. Never quite sure if I've done everything right and in the right order, even with a bit of practise and yes even after reading the guides(without them I would never have got this far). Div3 this div5 that, click encode but dont add to job. Got to admit you go round the houses a bit. But eventually worth it I agree. Does anyone else feel the same?

Question
Not too tekky please, and yes I've read all the guides, I think.
Once a movie is done, and works inc audio ie *.avi and all the other little files are deleted, inc vobs, could the whole movie be re 'done' to make smaller from the avi. ie slightly less resolution etc. I did have a go but there was no audio, as this time I didnt have a seperate ac3 track to re mux, silly me.
Many thanks

Welcome to the Forum

Im not sure what your asking, but I think you were asking about re-encoding a movie that was already encoded.

You can resize the AVI after you have deleted the other files. But it will look like crap. So it's recomended that you get the original DVD and redo the whole thing all over.

Also this isn't related to Audio as it's a video question. I think you should post this in the Gknot or the Newbee Forums.

Yes I am talking about re-encoding the finished avi, which I tried and it worked very well, as good as the first encode anyway, and made the video file a good deal smaller. Enough to easily fit on a cd and allow a audio track( if there was one). (I did say I was new at this) But what happened to the audio from the original avi file? Was it ignored, where did it go? Why couldnt it too be re muxed. The problem I had was not having the original ac3 audio file (or the dvd)to re-encode also. Anyway, not a mjaor issue.
The other audio problem was the 'fault' with audio not working after installing divx5.
This is why I mentioned this in the audio section.
