Ok I am understanding all about how audio timing is important.

If I rip a dvd and the IFO says the audio is delayed according to below, then would it be correct to have the "audio skew correction" in virtualdub for my wav file from dvd2avi set at -33?
I think this is correct, unless i am reading this number wrong and its meant to be +33... ???

0x20 - Subtitle - English / LBA: 48084 / PTS: 00:01:45.105 / Delay: 104838ms
0x80 - Audio - AC3 / 2ch / 48kHz / DRC / English / LBA: 63 / PTS: 00:00:00.233 / Delay: -33ms
0x81 - Audio - AC3 / 6ch / 48kHz / DRC / English / LBA: 51 / PTS: 00:00:00.233 / Delay: -33ms
0x82 - Audio - AC3 / 2ch / 48kHz / DRC / Japanese / LBA: 64 / PTS: 00:00:00.233 / Delay: -33ms
0x83 - Audio - AC3 / 6ch / 48kHz / DRC / Japanese / LBA: 52 / PTS: 00:00:00.233 / Delay: -33ms
0xE0 - Video - MPEG-2 / 720x480 (NTSC) / 16:9 / Letterboxed / LBA: 1 / PTS: 00:00:00.266 / Delay:

Hi-

Ordinarily, if you're converting to MP3 or WAV using BeSweet or HeadAC3he, you'll fix the delay at that stage, so nothing needs to get entered in the Audio Skew Correction box. But if you're using the AC3 or an uncorrected WAV or MP3 track, then yes, you enter -33ms in that box.

However, I'm not sure why you're letting VDub do the conversion for you, since the 2 programs I mentioned do a much better job of it. And if you got the WAV from DVD2AVI, then check Q11 Of The DVD2AVI FAQ (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46851).
