View Full Version : Creating Dummy Ifo's, bups, and vob's?

Hi Guys and Gals...
This should be an easy question for most of you, so maybe you can enlighten me! :D

I need to create some "dummy" ifos, bups, and vobs in order to properly piece my ripped DVD back into something that imgtools (v0.89) will successfully create an image with.

For example... I have VTS_01, VTS_02, VTS_03, AND VTS_05... Imgtools stops at VTS_03 and does not include VTS_05 ... (from what I've read, because VTS_04 is missing.)

So my quest is to put VTS_04 in the mix, so I can have a compliant DVD. I can rip the original VTS_04_0.ifo, bup, and vob, but I can't rip VTS_04_1.vob because it's too big. So to make a dummy vob, can I just open notepad, and click 'Save as' VTS_04_1.vob, and use that in my creation? Obviously I know I won't be able to play the VTS_04, I just want it in there to have a compliant DVD.

Thanks in advance for the help!!

Hmmm... I suppose a follow-up question to this would be...

If I want to keep VTS_01, VTS_02, VTS_03, AND VTS_05, but I got rid of VTS_04, (& assuming VTS_05 was successfully reencoded), can I just rename the vobs, bup, and ifo of VTS_05 to that of VTS_04?
I don't think I can, but thought I'd. check... If not, what can I do to get the VTS's to be in numerical order? (ie. VTS_01, VTS_02, VTS_03, AND VTS_04)

Hope my question makes sense!!!!!!:stupid:

Thanks! -LF

You could try copying one of your smaller VOB's and renaming it, or use chopper or vobsplit to create a small VOB from another file. You probably need to use Ifoedit to correct the Ifo's.

I'm interested in seeing how this works out so please post the programs and steps you use to create a compliant DVD.
