Use BeeSweet to create an aiff 5.1 file from AC3 track.
Create a batch with edited path
SET MPEGTABLES=D:\philips\TABLES
"D:\philips\pub_enc.exe" -ms -ns -L -r44.1 -e -p3 -b320 sound51.aif
Copy the batch into the movie folder and start.
Rename resulting sound51.mpg to sound51.mp2
DONE.
Test with WinAmp.
Mux with bbMPEG.

I thought bbMPEG cannot mux 5.1 MPEG 1 layer 2 audio streams properly? At least DVD2SVCD says you have to use I-Author for muxing. There were at least some threads in the DVD2SVCD and SVCD forums.

Yes, if I remember correctly, just TMPGenc can multiplex VBR MP2 and Multichannel MP2.

@symonjfox:
If you mention TMPGEnc here: All the guides on SVCD creation mention NOT to use TMPGEnc for multiplexing as it seems/ed to produce bad streams. Is this just a prejudice from the past or is it still the truth for current versions of TMPGEnc?

I don't know exactly. I rarely use it for muxing, but the few times I tried it works correctly.
Tmpgenc is the ONLY tool that allows the muxing or VBR audio for SVCD and also Multichannel sound.
I have never tried it yet, When I have time, I'll try to create a full VBR video/audio SVCD and I'll tell you if it works.
And also a Multichannel one, but I never use Multichannel MP2 because it has a VERY HIGH BITRATE so I must decrease the MAX Video Bitrate (so quality won't be so high even using 3 Discs). If the multichannel audio has 384 kbs, the video doesn't have to go over 2336 kbs and a SVCD with these settings will be ok only for low motion movies, while the image will suffer on high motion scenes. I don't want to create XSVCD because my DVD player doesn't support it.
To clarify, I use Mp2 at 112kbs joint stereo. I prefer to increase video bitrate and i think that is enough for movies (not for music)

thought bbMPEG cannot mux 5.1 MPEG 1 layer 2 audio streams properly? It's MPEG2 multi-channel audio.
bbMPEG is definitely able to mux MPEG2 multi-channel audio properly!
I have made about 20 SVCDs with MPEG2 mc 5.1 playing on Philips DVD players and Cyberhome 505 (Omega chipset)!
I use digital link in RAW mode, and my Pioneer VSX 859RDS decodes the soundtrack.
Other players do downmix to 2 channel stereo
Here the secret:
You have to set the right bit rate!
Example:
max. video bit rate = 2400 bps
mc 5.1 audio bit rate = 320 bps.
If you want higher rates, then required muxing rate exceeds 2788000 bit/s and you are off-standard.
If you do so (XSVCD), set "Forced mux rate" in bbMpeg to 0.
Then bbbMPEG calculates the right value.

Thanks for clarification, Frank!
Unfortunately I don't own a DVD standalone and it's definitely to expensive at the moment (for me, because I don't want to buy crap).
