XMEN splitting problem

XMEN splitting problem
This is confusing...for me
I followed this guide to splitting dvds to the letter:

I'm trying to backup Xmen.

1)I extracted all files to C:\xmen with dvd decrypter.
2)I did the instructions to split the dvd (main movie=VTS_04_X.VOB)
using IFOedit v0.95
3)I then followed the instructions on the guide to burn disc 1
with Nero 5.5.9.9

Result: I get reallocation error and when I try to play the
VIDEO_TS.IFO in IFOedit v0.95, I get error
message: "GetNumberOfChapters failed"
Why is this happening? What am I doing wrong?

Xmen without the extras fits on one DVD anyway.
As I recall it is a little bit complicated as there are is a title set for the movie and one for the movie with deleted scenes added in.

Just rip the title set for the main movie and it is easily small enough to fit on one DVD
