View Full Version : Creating Menu buttons. Only want to see action button and not attached text.

I have been creating menu's in Photoshop and importing them into ReelDVD just like Trilights guide.
I have a small problem that in my DVD players, but not in WinDVD, the action buttons are considerably lower then the text it copies.

I have decided that what I would like to do if possible is create some main text on the background and use a ">" as the button. However I would like the ">" to be only seen as the action and not as text on the layer. The background is a scanned image so trying to match the color to make it blend in is impossible. I can do most of this easy enough, but I can't figure out how to make the layer text invisible so only the action text is seen.

I hope you understand what I mean.

Thanks,
Mark

if the ">" is only on the subpicture layer and not the background layer, then you can set the colours for the 'normal' and 'selected' to 0's and the action to whatever colour you want to make it only appear when you press the enter button on the button.

not sure how exactly that would work with the layer->button mode in ReelDVD, but if you import just the background, then drop the subpic (as one image) onto the background in the layout, it works (i tried it)
