Unless some last-minute obstacle or issue arises, this forum will soon split into two: a users forum and a developers forum. Please be aware of this and stand by for further details and posting guidelines.
Thank you for making Avisynth the most active, vibrant, and dynamic forum!

Guess it will affect links to other threads and the capacity to search the forum, mostly to newcomers who still have to look for very old threads to gain knowledge.

"threadid" will probably not be changed, and forumid will probably also remain, so most links should still work.

I'm certainly jumping too late on the matter and I apologize for that, but wouldn't the forums at avisynth.org be more suited for that? Or should we see this as an intermediate, like this make me think:
"stand by for further details and posting guidelines."

We haven't had a lot of luck in redirecting advanced/development traffic to avisynth.org, so as long as the volume remains here, it seems appropriate to have separate forums.
Pending discussions with the co-mods, I ask everyone to post everyday usage type questions, as well as how-to-use for specific released filters, to the usage forum. The development forum should be used for topics related to the Avisynth core and filter development, as well as advanced usage questions that have implications for core and filter architecture. If in doubt, please use the usage forum. Don't worry, the Gurus will be reading everything. :)
I will be moving some threads over to Development just to get it seeded, as it were.
I propose a policy whereby posts to the Development forum that don't belong there will be silently moved to Usage.
No cross-posting between forums, please!

Thank you all for the warm welcome as a moderator (here and in other threads).
I plan do keep a low profile, as long as you keep behaving as nicely as until now. Hopefully there is nothing more for me to do than approve an attachment now and then. As Steady and Dividee has some "off" periods, it's good to know that there are at least two frequent moderators present.

In some of my replies, I mentioned that some threads should be in the "development" forum as they are of technical in nature. :)
