When configuring the divx codec (final stage) in the sound tab can I just select a *.dts file (just mux option) that I ripped with smartripper?
Will it mux it properly? I have an external dts decoder and I'm using the audigy's SPDIF output.

No, that will not work. This guide (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43269&highlight=DTS) will tell you a little about DTS audio in AVI's, and how to mux it manually.
