Are you sure this is the right place to discuss warez and this dvd-screener of 'Red Dragon' that has been spread all over net?
Of course there has been many other pirate versions of this same movie after this first failure, but I guess you did know that already...
How do you think people can help? There isn't really accurate data available of these warez-groups tools end modified codecs they wanna play with. Or are you willing to share your information, what codec settings they used? :)
Btw, nice term you used.. "I acquired a clip.." so bougth it from Amazon.com? :)
There are of course hundreds of warez-forums who can help you with this one.

Its a videoclip, i never onced hinted it was warez?
I dont really see the problem, its a 1 minute long video clip, i just wondered if anyone could help me so i can avoid the sort of problems when i start to encode my own dvds
and if you wanted to be picky, backing up your own dvds is illegal, and i bet you have 1 illegal peice of software on your pc, ie mp3s etc..
So i dont need a lecture.

Use ffdshow and if it still doesn't work, try to switch between video output mode in Bsplayer.
And stop downloading warez elite lamers' stuff

Ok, to clear this up - this board isn't for discussing pirated material, so after this post i'll close this thread.
Just a hint: earlier implementations of qpel in xvid had a "smearing effect" which would cause what you're describing. That's why it's the development tree, it's for sure buggy.
