Hi, just had a problem with the Simpsons audio after running it through IC

there are 4 audio's

1. 5.1
2. Surround
3. French
4. Director's

I opted to keep streams 1 & 4, but now after using the audio menu to play the Director's commments it still plays the 5.1 track!

I can easily the remote audio button to switch but I guess I'm fussy with my backups :)

but thanks to trilights very simple guide I have now changed the ifo file so the correct audio plays from the audio menu (solution here)

has anyone else noticed the audio menu not working properly when deselecting audios in IC?

Yes, happened to me on a movie last night - removed a french audio track and kept english 5.1 and Dir Commentary - The IC encode always plays the 5.1 audio no matter what is selected in the menu. No big deal anyhow

Cheers

Any time you strip a stream in the middle, the later stream get bumped up. This will usually break the menu buttons that let you pick audio the audio stream, since stream 3 is now stream 2, or whatever. Most players will default to stream 1 or stream ID 80, if the selected stream isn't present.

The easy workaround is to remove the user prohibition to on audio stream switching. That would allow you to pick the stream on the fly when you watch the disc with your dvd remote.

Sometimes, picking another audio stream on the menu will get you to the one you want. Say you ripped French audio from stream 2, and stream 3 was commentary. picking french from the menu might get you the commentary, it might not, depending on the discs programming.

The only way to really fix it, is to modify the IFOs and/or menu VOBs to remap the buttons to the correct stream.

You'll have the same problem with subtitle streams as well. So you might as well keep them all since they take so little space on the disc.
