i'm having problems with my burned svcd. it's out of synch (audio and video). it starts ok, and then go out of synch throughout the movie. i'm using virtual dub to frame serve (with subtitles) wo tmpg and then i'm burning with vcdeasy. i burned about 6 svcds without this problem, but my last 3 svcd have been with this problem. also, lately when i'm watching movies in my computer, the images freezes (but not the audio) and then starts to go quickly until it catches up with the video. it happens a lot of times throughout the movie. i noticed the svcds started to burn wrong about the same time this other problem started. could it be related?

how can i fix that? do i need a codec? anyone can help me?

to your second problem: this usually happens when the player doesn't have enough time to properly decode the movie, or it get's it delivered too slow (e.g. slow lan or cd drive)
make sure you have the least ram and cpu usage possible, probably reboot before you watch the movie.

oh and about your first problem check out this document (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/timelinesynch.htm)

you mean that my hard drive is too full? well, i got about 9 movies in my hard drive (and lots of mp3s). so if i get rid of most of it, will it be ok?

did I say anything about hard drives?!?

anyway this TOO could be the problem. i'd say you should make sure to have at LEAST 5-700 MB of diskspace free on the partition/drive whereyour OS is installed!

hi lua,shining?

maybe is not your problem but could be.
in svcd if i encode the audio to 48k,in the pc the sincro is right,
but in my dvd player the audio is a few ms out of sincro.
then i re encode the audio to 44k
than play fine in pc and in dvd player.

in vcd don't matter if is in 44k or 48k,all play fine.

your svcd audio is in 48k? if yes, reencode to 44k and test!
;)

hey jorel, i would be shining if i didn't have this problem... :D

anyway, my svcd is 44k.
i'm gonna try the method killingspree gave me. but is it common to be ALWAYS out of synch? my first svcds weren´t and i'm doing the exact same thing: extrating the audio with virtual dub (wav) and using it with the avi as the video source to convert to mpg in tmpg.

why know it is ALWAYS out of synch?

hi Lua....
it's "incredible" but true.
i post it a months ago:
(can't remember the thread, and send a mail to ahead....nobody answer)

if i burn svcd in nero and using the
(internal) menu(choosing bmp,etc),
when i play in pc it's ok,but in dvd player the sincro is lost.

if i burn again only "untick" the menu in nero,
in pc and in dvd player got perfect sincro!!!;)

vcds with or without menu, play ok in all situations!!!

you burn svcd in nero and with menu?

:)

i burn with menu but in vcdeasy.

i'll tey to burn vcds for now on, but i'm afraid the quality won't be as good...
