Hi everybody:
Has someone met with brightness flicker effect in some PAL movies sometimes? I have few PAL DVDs and there is blinking screen at some places in movies. I have never seen something like this in any NTSC movie. Does it have something to do with PAL version of movie, or because the movie is Interlaced ? Or because of bad quality ? Can somene tell me how to remove it by encoding ?
Thank you.

had this before. very annoying, istn't it? i believe it's bad quality of the film source, and dont think it's related to interlace.
remember the last time I had it in some scenes of Sleepy Hollow. several tests, and ended up with Convolution3D(0,6,10,6,8,2.8,0) - the result was fine for me.
hope this helps :)

Could you tell me how to apply this Convolution3D(0,6,10,6,8,2.8,0) ? Is it some plugin ? Where could I download it ?

check here (http://www.hellninjacommando.com/con3d)
c3d is a very good denoise filter (but quite slow!). try it with different options and choose the one that looks best for your eyes. (it's a trade-off between keeping details and removing noise)
mind you that the flicker will remain, but will become 'smoother'.
P.S.: c3d was applied before resizing

i think dust (pixiedust in particular) is the best - but even slower (really, really slow) still in development tho, so it may get quicker at some point. (hint steady ;))

pixiedust is a good idea! will check it on flickering scenes as soon as I have some time :)
