2 little requests for XviD

I've felt the lack of two simple features from the first time i used Xvid:

1) a way to save the actual codec settings in order to use them later or to share them in the forums (templates ^_^)

2) in fixed quantitizer mode, the possibility to set different quantitizers for opening titles and ending title, because i.e. making an anime encoding it's more important to give a lower quant to the opening title than to the ending title

Do you think they're useful features to add?

1)Yes,there is such a prog,dont remember how it is called.
2)You can actualy do it already,check the credits tab and set the range and the quantz you want.

would be nice to have the possibility to declare more than 2 frame ranges to get special treatment
and would be even nicer to be able to change more of the encoding options for these frame ranges (i mean "qpel on 67281-68931 and so on :cool: )

1. thanks for the link:D i don't know why but this program is escaped to my mouse :p (strange... it seem very useful but i've rarely seen xml files it create shared on this forum section... boh)

Why don't add this useful code to the XviD code ? :rolleyes: :p

2.Yes i was hoping i.e. for a q 3 for opening, q4 for all the episode, q5 for the ending.
The extension to this concept made by suni would be very interesting becuse often in the episodes there are some intevals that needs (only this little inteval) a special tratment (like no b-frames orqpel or simply a constant quant=2 because even with q3 they looks very bad)

As for specific quantizers for specific parts - I think it would be possible to write some kind of .stats file editor which could handle this - but maybe we should wait for new 2-pass code and start working on the editior when it's ready.

As for now, everything is possible by coding all the parts separately...

You could save a .vcf file with vdub and share this file.
