Hi all together,
i'm a newbie and i hope i make no mistakes. I use DVD2SVCD several times but the last 10 DVD convertings and also AVI convertings i get the problem that Audio is not synchron. I tried complete new installation of all tools and plugins but without success. Also i'm not able to convert a movie by using the MPEG5.1 Audio format. Below you can see the Logfile from my last try. The Movie is "Angel Eyes" and i Rip the complete DVD with Smartripper because i was not able to convert i directly.

THX in advance

Use cut and paste for the log file. Don't attach it.
What did you rip the DVD's with?

From the Q+A. I do suggest you read it.

Q24: My audio and video are not synced
A: This rarely happens. The most common reason is when a DVD have been ripped with an external ripper (like Smartripper). Always us internal routines when possible. (In the new DVD2SVCD versions, you can select "Rip Only" and convert the ripped vob files later). Another reason could be that a trailer is as the first chapter on the DVD (like Swordfish).

i search the whole forum for the same problem but i can't find any solution. the problem occurs also when i use ripping with internal routines and in the case i wan't to convert a AVI-file, i'dont have to rip it so it seems to me that the problem comes from one point after ripping. do somebody have the same experience?

My point in that post was because you responded that you ripped with SmartRipper. This is a common problem with videos ripped with it.

What player are you using to determine that the video is not in Sync?
Is it your standalone or are you using a software player on your computer?
Whatever you do don't use Windows Media Player. Use PowerDVD or WinDVD on your computer.

Try dropping that 10 second overlap down to at least 6 if not lower. This wastes space on the disc anyway.

Have you been able to play SVCD's before?

Have you checked the DVD player list at www.vcdhelp.com to see if your DVD player has any known issues?

Next time you create the images uncheck the title pic. Some players have issues with that. You won't have to re-encode just use recover. After you load the d2s file go to the image tab and uncheck title pic. Then recover from SVCD creation I believe.

At this time i have converted approximatly 60 DVD's with DVD2SVCD. For playing the SVCD's i use: 1. Tower with Pentium 4 2,66GHz, 512MB, NVIDEA Geforce 4 TI4200; 2. Laptop with Pentium 3 and my Standalone DVD-Player. In normal cases i use every time PowerDVD and i tried also several other players. My standalone Player is a Philips which also supports SVCD/VCD. And that's what i write up to now i have no problems using this configuration: Title pic and Overlap 10 sec but i will try out tips.

Hi Tweedy,

me, I have the same problem - but only with AVI2SVCD, DVD2SVCD works fine... I've searched for the solution everywhere, too, but it seems like a generic error of DVD2SVCD :(

I've searched for the solution everywhere Where? Have you tried beta 7 available in the top sticky? Also, see the bottom posts in that thread.
but it seems like a generic error of DVD2SVCD What is the rational for this statement? What was your method of research and data, point by point, that allowed you come to this conclusion. If you have found something via research, please share it with us so that the author of the program can fix it.

Hi all,

it seems that the problem is solved. Maybe that some installation/deinstallation of SW damaged some other files. After setup my machine from scratch everything works fine.

Thanks for your help.
