I encoded subtitles using the DVD2SVCD's SVCD selectable format, but playing my video & selecting subtitles with my remote control nothing happen and i don't see any news on the video.

So i decided to encode subtitles permanently into the mpg (this should solve the problem, if the subtitles are always there i'll see them), do i need to repeat the entire encoding process? (i mean audio extraction, ancoding, video encoding, muxing and so on)

I don't know if term "permanent" means that sutitles are hardly encoded with video frames, if this is the case i need to repeat the entire conversion process from the beginning, otherwise using the recover button of DVD2SVCD from which step i need to restart?

Thank you.

Hello!

Short answer: Yes, the subtitles are hardcoded into the video. A search would have given the answer much faster.
To redo the whole process (without ripping again) would be surely the best decision.
About the SVCD selectable subtitles iīm quite sure that it is a player problem. There are only some compatible standalone player, and i personally donīt know any software player that supports selectable subs. Check vcdhelp (http://www.vcdhelp.com) for the compatibility and more information about your standalone player.
