Hi guys
Well, I have started encoding again and just wanted to ask a few things. I am using divx 4.12 final codec to encode dvd 2 divx which i am pleased with.
When i do the first pass and use the log to do the second pass the results are rather sucking. Because the first pass uses a higher bitrate then the second pass i think im getting better results. I was reading about using the divx4log edit to raise some of the settings to tweak but because of the newest verison of dvix4log edit has all different stuff im not sure how to tweak it properly and wanted to ask for help with anyone that has experience.
I also getting some static around subtitles but only at certain parts and wanted to know if there was anything i can do for that. Im using avs file to encode in virtual dub. I already have Little Noise in the avs through Gordian Knot. So would like some help tweaking the log and quality.

Pal, 25fps, interlaced and 4:3. Resized in Gknot, Smart Deinterlace, Little Noise, Resize in cropped in Gknot as well.
