Ok, I've downloaded a xvid avi file with separate subtitles. (.srt) How can I put the subtitles and the movie together to be encoded into svcd? Do I have to put them together before I encode into svcd or after? Or do I have to frameserve with virtual dub? Would that work? Suggestions?

First you have to get Vobsub, that contains the plugin for subtitles you want.

What do you want to do? Permanent or selectable subs?

If you want to make SVCD with permanent subtitles, you always have to frameserve, virtual dub it's one of the choices, avisynth is the best choice.

You have to convert .srt to .sub with ex. subconvert in microdvd player. Then use dvd2svcd, the last version and just select in conversion tab under the "Go" menu, "Add external subtitle streams", select the subtitle file and select what type of subtitle you want, permanent or not.

It is not possible to add to a SVCD with not permanent subtitles if you only have a .srt or MicroDVD-.sub file in DVD2SVCD. Only the permanent subtitles possible.
